Project Lead Engineer- Automation & Drives, Metals

Your role and responsibilities

Developing and delivering entire project scope for process industry customers. Ensuring the project deliverables are met in terms of application quality performance and budget, while working with a team of automation project engineers
Leading a complete project comprising of scope of automation and drives system for metals sector. Leading activities of basic and detailed engineering of automation systems including hardware and application programming. Responsible for technical deliveries in engineering, testing and commissioning of the systems
Acting as a design authority (if needed) for a particular engineering discipline and completes the corresponding engineering assignments
Collaborating on project installation, commissioning and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors
Supporting project manager / contract manager in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications including safety and cybersecurity, etc.)
Participating in project meetings actively and resolves any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputed university with first class in electrical / electrical and electronics engineering
• 10-12 years of relevant work experience in automation systems, application programming and leading of projects end-to-end
• Should have experience in handling automation projects comprising of engineering and commissioning for steel industry specifically on secondary side of steel production- hot and cold mills
• Having basic knowledge of electrical systems like transformers, low voltage switchgears, motor control centers and soft starters
• Knowledge of IT/ Network/ Peripherals like UPS, Printer, PC’s, Server components of DCS
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
