Your role and responsibilities

This dynamic role requires a solid working knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, both electrical and mechanical technical skills, leadership, business acumen and effective communication skills.
Perform electrical testing, preventive maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, modernization and installation of medium and low voltage electrical power equipment such as circuit breakers, switchgear cabinets, protection and control devices, etc.
Plan and execute work on time and on budget to world-class quality and safety standards.
Communicate with customers to present ABB capabilities and increase service opportunities. Work closely with sales team to maintain, develop and grow customer base.

Qualifications for the role

  • Electrical technician/technologist with at least two years' relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical safety procedures and practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical skills.
  • Ability to understand written instructions and procedures as well as electrical drawings, and to draft or draw them.

  • Familiar with electrical distribution equipment and test procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and most common software (Office Suite).
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English (written and spoken).
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout territory, work overtime, weekends and service calls.

  • Enterprising, self-starter able to move files quickly and take responsibility for results.

  • Ability to establish good communication and maintain strong relationships with customers and team members.
