Your role and responsibilities

Your role and responsibilities

Follow instructions given by the maintenance supervisor or other assigned maintenance personnel. Will rotate through various assignments to learn manufacturing processes. Performs routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment. Uses blueprints and schematics to make logical decisions for correct repair. Works and communicates effectively with interacting department personnel. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications for the role

  • High school graduate or GED required and two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrates ability to comprehend blueprints and schematics for purposes of decision making.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
  • Ability to interact and respond as a team member and to communicate effectively over the phone.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical abilities must be satisfactorily demonstrated.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Good English communication skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) to be able to communicate and discuss with English speaking internal and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations.
  • This posting is specifically for FAME students in this ATC program.
