Your role and responsibilities

We are now looking for a new Site Manager to join our Project Management team at Marine and Ports division in Helsinki, Finland. The team you will be joining, is part of the Marine Propulsion Service Finland organization that supports our global marine customers with Azipod® propulsion systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work both as a Site Manager and as a Project Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include leading and coordinating the maintenance projects of Azipod propulsion units during dry dockings. This position offers a dynamic work environment, with approximately 60% of your time dedicated to on-site management and 40% to project management tasks at the office. You will be mainly accountable for: • Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to participate in project planning, scheduling, and execution. • Site Manager: Site leadership by supervising and motivating the site team. Your duties will include planning, scheduling, and installation supervision of the Azipod propulsion systems maintenance and modernization activities in vessel dry dockings in cooperation with the customer, shipyard, and classification society. • Project Manager: Executing small and medium-sized projects within your designated areas of responsibility. Achieving project deliverables and compliance with contract requirements. Monitoring projects to ensure best practices in cost control, resource efficiency, quality and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid when considering the Project Management part of your role.

Qualifications for the role

  • Technical background, e.g. B.Sc in Engineering or similar field of study
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with challenging operational responsibilities or in direct customer interface
  • Willingness and ability to travel (approx. 60 days a year)
  • Experience in project management, with capabilities to lead yourself and independently execute projects
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage the site and project teams
  • Proactive, solution-focused, collaborative personality with the ability to handle tasks with a sense of urgency. Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Experience in direct customer interactions, with a strong service mindset and good communication skills in English
  • Experience in the marine industry, particularly with propulsion products and dry dockings, is considered an advantage
  • Language skills in Finnish are seen as a benefit
