Purpose of the job

The vehicle technician shall provide field support for maintenance, repairs, and/or operation of vehicles for the Finch West LRT project. Provide technical expertise to subcontractors, project team and less experienced personnel. Responsible for troubleshooting of equipment and operating portable test equipment, testing devices and special tools towards execution of support activities. The technician ensures and respects EHS rules to execute all requested activities safely. The technician will ensure all information, equipment and parts are available and prepared, to ensure efficient execution.

Qualification and Functional Knowledge

Education

Technician degree (electrical, mechanical, device and application etc.)

strong aptitude to troubleshoot electromechanical systems and embedded software.

Relevant experience required.

Solid hands-on experience on electro-mechanical systems, 5-8 years

Specialized or cross-functional knowledge experience required by position / role.

Mid-level power application knowledge across industries

Knowledge of Technician Operation Standard

Effective technical communication / reporting both orally and in writing

Key responsibilities

  • perform a variety of assignments such as replacement if failed parts or equipment, test, operation, and maintenance of fleet.
  • perform various maintenance activities on the vehicle under the supervision of the site supervisor.
  • report and record the incidents of electromechanical equipment/subsystem failures and perform preliminary troubleshooting, contact engineering or supplier for solution if necessary.
  • report any damage or shortage of parts/tools to the logistic department to request replacement part or order spares and/or consumables, tools etc.
  • based on instruction for engineering and/or supplier, design test/investigate methods and set up test, report test results to engineering and/or supplier to improve design/product quality
