Could you be the Project Director based at the Wulkuraka, QLD site operations for the Queensland New Generation Rollingstock project that we’re looking for?
Your future role:
Your future role as Project Director, leveraging your proven delivery experience, entails responsibility for fulfilling contractual obligations to the Customer. You will provide leadership and direction to the core project team, lead the project strategy, and play a pivotal role in interfacing with key stakeholders across the project and region.
We'll look to you for:
- Leading the performance of the site, including regulatory compliance, EHS, customer service, equipment reliability, business development, purchasing, finance, property management, and P&L.
- Administering a service function to ensure the site operates 24/7 throughout the year.
- Interfacing with customers, regulators, and Alstom leadership to ensure quality service, meeting contractual, regulatory, and jurisdictional standards.
- Planning, developing, and managing budgets, with accountability for long-range planning, cost-saving initiatives, production efficiency, employee relations, succession planning, and overall contract oversight.
- Advising staff on financial, technical, and operational matters; representing the site’s fiscal position as required.
- Controlling expenditures in line with budgeted amounts and company policy; reviewing and approving purchases of supplies, services, and equipment.
- Leading, mentoring, developing, and coordinating the work activities of the project management team.
- Staying informed about and applying relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures set forth by Alstom Fleet Services.
- Planning, developing, and recommending new or updated policies and programs to meet business needs.
- Ensuring maximized internal and external customer and supplier relations, communication, and performance while enhancing Alstom’s profitability.
All about you:
- Tertiary degree in a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in project management and delivery, including KPI management, budget preparation, and controls.
- Significant experience in the heavy railway sector or similar industries such as aerospace, defence, or aviation, involving customer service, operations, and/or maintenance.
- Exceptional people management, leadership, communication and presentation skills.
