Job Description


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of Low and High Voltage motor principles, including torque, speed, power, efficiency, and control methods.
• Experience with various motor testing equipment and methodologies.
• Experience with motor testing equipment (Dynamometers, power analysers, etc.).
• 3-5 years of experience in motor testing or a related field is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Test Engineers responsibilities:

• Conduct the testing required for verification of the traction motor and controller under development.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for electric traction motor designs according to test specifications, DVP and industry standards.
• Coordinate with external test agencies for complete testing scope i.e. Feasibility study, Techno commercial activities, Test execution and final report generation.
• Conduct a variety of motor tests, including performance tests (torque, speed, efficiency), durability tests, and environmental tests.
• Analyse test data to identify performance deviations, potential failures, and areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot motor malfunctions and diagnose root causes.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to develop corrective actions and implement solutions.
• Document test procedures, results, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
• Work with suppliers for rig development as per test specifications.
• Work with Vendors & supplier for Test related parts, fixture manufacturing & assembly.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address customer-specific test requirements.
• Commissioning of the test rigs.
• Maintain the test facility equipment and calibration of test rigs.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures in the test lab.
• Preparation of electric motor and component tests, instrumentation, programming of test cycles
• Communication and technical discussions with customers.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Understanding of Various Standards for Environmental, Structural & Motor related testing
• Knowledge in of automotive tools like Vector CAN, Peak CAN, CANalyzer, INCA or other data analysing tools.
• Fundamental skills working with electric equipment, data acquisition, and controls.
• Experience with test bench equipment, e.g. Vibration shaker, Dynos, Environmental test systems, Cyclic corrosion test systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours to support multi-shift operation if necessary.
• Readiness to travel at test agencies, suppliers to conduct/ coordinate testing activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
