We are looking for a talented and keen senior electronic hardware engineer. In this role he/she develops the hardware of speed and position sensors used in e-motors for electric vehicle applications (both automotive and industrial). He/she reports to EE Hardware Manager and will work closely with other R&D engineers and professionals to develop new technological products for DANA electrification programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Your challenges:
• Design, develop and qualify speed and position sensors for being used in low-voltage electric motors.
• Study and learn about state-of-the-art electronics for electric motor sensors to advance the actual technology.
• Master the entire life cycle of motor sensing devices (specification, schematic and PCB design, industrialization and qualification).
• Work with external labs and consultants to assure compliance with relevant standards.
• Draft product validation and qualification plan.
• Collaborate with mechanical designers for best motor integration of sensors (i.e. EMC behavior, assembly, etc.).
• Support manufacturing engineering team to establish a sustainable production process.
• Follow samples prototyping, testing and analysis.
• Work closely with other company innovation centers to stay aligned and current with the latest.
• Deliver project work products such as technical specifications, test plan, reports.
Your strengths :
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other equivalent field ;
• Previous experience (5 year/s) in electronic hardware
• Deep knowledge of electronics analog and digital.
• Experience with design, development, and qualification of electronic hardware.
• Functional knowledge of electronic components (i.e., datasheets and characteristics).
• Awareness of dynamic behaviour of electronic components used for speed/position sensing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
• Ability to deal with Altium Designer as eCAD
• Experience in eBOM management with PLM (Teamcenter preferred)
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required
• Ability to travel to the production plant (Chakan, India) when required
Considered as an asset:
• Experience in modelling and simulation of electronic components and circuits.
• Knowledge of DFMEA principles and ability to contribute in such an analysis
• Background in development of sensors and actuators.
• Knowledge about firmware development and programming with PIC MCUs (MPLAB IDE).
• Experience with Arduino HW and SW (IDE) for End-of-Line programming and testing
