Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced MPTO in the Operations Team at the Copper Concentrator & Fill and Filter plants. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa.

The Role
The position of Operations MPTO will be monitor the effective running of the Copper Concentrator - Fill and Filter areas for the crew, shift and apply methods to achieve and improve processes to maximise the crew efficiency and plant utilisation. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you be required to work a roster of 7/7 day/night shift.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Promoting and delivering a culture of safety, operational excellence & continuous improvement
- Management of crew projects and improvements to implementation
- Support in the development of a team of skilled enthusiastic personnel to ensure each operator reaches their full potential
- Contribution to processes and systems that underpin effective work management
- Challenging waste, rework and maximising value
- Perform regular workplace audits and reinforce compliance where required
- Developing relationships with stakeholders across the site contributing to the professionalism and credibility of our team and assets
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
- High level of attention to detail and flexible approach to business needs
- Great time management skills and the ability to lead a team
- Experience in a similar leadership position within a large processing or backfilling site would be preferred
- Hold a current manual Australian driver’s license
- Intermediate knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite, Ellipse and SAP
- Be a team builder with the ability to work with multiple disciplines and influence positive change
